Lviv paratroopers shot down a russian Su-25 attack aircraft.

The pilot of the attack aircraft did not have time to eject.

On Sunday, May 22, the Ukrainian military shot down a russian Su-25 Rook attack aircraft. The air defense unit of the Lviv 80th Separate Assault Brigade successfully aimed at enemy aircraft.

“The armored plane of the occupiers was forever landed by the calculation of the Igla MANPADS. This fact once again confirms the professionalism of anti-aircraft soldiers of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” – said the command of the Airborne Assault Forces.

To confirm the successful operation, the paratroopers published a photo showing the burning russian attack aircraft burning.

The Strategic Communications Department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added that the attack aircraft was single. The pilot did not have time to eject.

It will be recalled that 80 separate airborne assault brigades from Lviv have recently enjoyed significant successes in carrying out combat missions in eastern Ukraine. During three days of fighting on May 18-20, Lviv paratroopers destroyed 38 units of russian army equipment. And in early May, the 80th ODSHB set a military record: during the russian attempt to force the Seversky Donets River, its assault and artillery units destroyed 73 enemy armored vehicles, battalion and tactical group of russians in two days of heavy fighting and blew up their pontoon.
