The AFU pushed the russians away from two villages in the Luhansk region.

The russians were unable to capture Metolkine and Belogorovka in the Severodonetsk direction.

Ukraine’s armed forces have forced russian invaders to withdraw from two settlements in the Severodonetsk direction of Luhansk region, said Defense Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Motuzyanyk.

According to him, Ukrainian troops thwarted attempts by the russian occupiers to capture two villages – Metolkine and Belogorovka.

“The enemy suffered losses and withdrew. As of this morning, the enemy, with the support of aircraft, is conducting assault operations in residential areas of the central part of Severodonetsk. It also suffers losses. Active fighting is underway,” – Oleksandr Motuzyanyk said at a briefing on Friday, June 3.

He also said that in the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian soldiers are preventing attempts by the enemy to push Ukrainian troops out of their positions and create conditions for further offensives.

Earlier today, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Severodonetsk is now one of the hottest spots on the front, with fighting taking place in the city center.
