In the Zaporozhye region, paratroopers with the help of Stinger MANPADS destroyed a russian Mi-8 transport helicopter. Another helicopter came to his aid, which was also shot down – but this time by the Marines. This was reported in the press center of the Airborne Assault Command.
It is reported that on April 21 in one of the areas of execution of the air defense unit of the 81st separate airmobile brigade of the DShV of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a russian Mi-8 transport and combat helicopter with Stinger MANPADS.
Subsequently, another russian helicopter, trying to evacuate a possibly surviving crew, was successfully destroyed by fellow soldiers from the Marine Corps of the Ukrainian Navy.
The helicopter was shot down in the Huliaipil district, not far from the village of Malynivka. The settlement of Malynivka is under the control of Ukrainian forces. The population is 884 people.
According to ZAXID.NET, today the air defense unit of the National Guard in the Zaporozhye region destroyed an enemy helicopter Ka-52 “Alligator” based on MANPADS. This is one of the latest models of russian ground forces, which is in the service of the enemy.
