The Ukrainian armed forces recaptured several villages from the Russians in the Kharkiv region. These are five villages and partly another village to the north-east of Kharkiv. A successful counterattack in this direction began on May 5.

“As a result of the offensive, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine regained control over the settlements of Oleksandrivka, Fedorivka, Ukrainka, Shestakove, Peremoha and part of the village of Cherkaski Tyshky,” – the General Staff of the Armed Forces said in an evening report on May 6.

In the Izyum direction, the russians tried to launch an offensive in the direction of the village of Nova Dmytrivka, near Barvinkovo, but it was unsuccessful.

According to the Armed Forces, the enemy is blocking some remote settlements in the Kharkiv region and systematically shelling the positions of Ukrainian troops, including from multiple rocket launchers.

In general, as of today, the russian army is most active in the Slobozhansky and Donetsk directions.

“In the Lyman direction, the enemy carried out assault operations in the direction of the village of Shandrygolove. He tried to establish control over the settlements of Rubizhne and Voevodivka in the Severodonetsk direction, but was unsuccessful. In the Popasnyansky direction he carried out assault operations in the direction of the settlement of Nyzhne. In the Avdiyevsky and Kurakhiv directions, he limited himself to shelling the positions of units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” – the General Staff added.
